Peterlee, fielding 3 brand new players took a while to get rid of the ring rust and could have been forgiven for thinking they were playing against 14 men as they had 3 tries in the first 15 minutes controversially disallowed 2 for knocking on during the grounding and another deemed to held up over the line.

The Pumas under 13s completed a league and cup double in a thrilling game at the Gateshead Internationl Stadium.

Having won the cup by beating Killingworth last year a last game of the season defeat had meant they had bean forced to share the league  title but this year the league rules had changed and superleague style playoff system was introduced.  The Pumas had already managed to retain their cup title by beating Wallsend recently but all eyes were on the league title contest between the competitions two strongest sides.  The Pumas had had the chance to tie it all up in February when the Rockets had visited Helford road but missing several players through injury  the Rockets had managed to pinch an early first half 4 try to nil lead and despite the Pumas second half fight with 4 tries to 1 it meant that both sides would have play off for the title.

There will be a level 1 coaching course on the 26th and 27th of April at Bishop Auckland, anyone wishing to to do this could you let me know asap so i can get the forms out to you and back in time please.

modified games refs course and then coaching session this Thursday Just a reminder that we have a modified games coaching course open to all at the club house this Thursday at 9 30, it means you would be able to referee under 11s games down and then after wards robin peers our community sports coach will be taking a coaching session for anyone that wants to attend. This open to all, juniors, adults, parents, anyone and is free.

There are moves to have organised league games through the summer this year for the womens team.  Any women 16 and above who would like to try the game please get in touch.  Whether you are an existing league player, soccer or union player or have just fancied having a go please get in touch.



Training will be on Thursdays from 7pm at Helford Road and Games will most likely be on Sundays although Saturdays are a possibility too.

The Colliers travelled to the Strongest side in the League and fullfilled this fixture which some with fainter hearts living a lot closer have not done this year.
